The philosopher Simone Weil wrote, “The joy of learning
is as indispensable in study as breathing is in running.
Where it is lacking there are no real students, but only
poor caricatures of apprentices who, at the end of their
apprenticeship, will not even have a trade.”
I believe that a “love for learning” is essential to the
success of the student. It can be discovery of new
stuff or curiosity about why something works. My goal as
an educator is to model a wide-eyed eagerness to learn
as many new and wonderful things as possible, within the
Christian worldview.
With the Holy Scriptures as our foundation, I believe
the SJA staff place our students in the direct path of
the Creator God, who re-creates us in His image. Thank
you, Jesus.
